About Global AI Observatory
An international research initiative on Artificial Intelligence, Economy and Institutions
Global AI Observatory is an international research and analysis initiative dedicated to the economic, institutional and social consequences of advanced artificial intelligence.
Its work begins from a simple premise: artificial intelligence cannot be understood only as a technological development. It is already affecting production, labor, value creation, organizational models, public decision-making and the balance of responsibilities within institutions and companies.
The Observatory was developed within the broader analytical experience of Zanettistudios S.r.l., a management consulting firm active since 2002, and has progressively taken shape as an autonomous space for research, interpretation and qualified discussion on the transformations generated by AI.
Research identity and role
Global AI Observatory develops essays, research contributions, theoretical reflections, surveys and recurring analytical outputs focused on the economic, institutional and human implications of artificial intelligence.
The Observatory also promotes the participation of qualified experts. Through protected surveys and written contributions, it gathers perspectives from professionals, researchers, entrepreneurs and institutional observers working directly on the changes produced by AI.
The theoretical work developed around the Observatory includes the Theory of Unified Super-Substitutability (TUSS), developed by Giancarlo Zanetti as part of a wider reflection on the transformation of work, value and economic systems in the age of advanced artificial intelligence.
Recurring AI Barometers and aggregated research results are published through Osservatorio Italiano, the research, analysis and survey center of Zanettistudios S.r.l.
Where relevant, survey documentation may also be made available through the official Italian Government survey portal www.sondaggipoliticoelettorali.it, so that readers can consult the corresponding methodological information.
Research outputs and publications
The activity of Global AI Observatory is not limited to individual contributions or periodic surveys. Research may also develop into broader collective outputs and book projects dedicated to the economic, institutional and systemic consequences of artificial intelligence.
Invited experts can take part in surveys and contribute written analyses. Authors may also submit complete book manuscripts for preliminary editorial evaluation.
When a book project is selected, its editorial development is carried forward with LIBRI X BUSINESS, the publishing house responsible for the editorial, contractual and publication process.
Access to surveys, expert contributions, published AI Barometers, editorial guidelines and manuscript submission is available through the GAIO Expert Research Initiative and Publications area.
Relationship with AI News Observer
The research activity of Global AI Observatory also supports AI News Observer, the English-language journalistic section of QUI MILANO dedicated to artificial intelligence.
The two initiatives work on the same transformation from different perspectives. Global AI Observatory develops research, long-term analysis and expert participation. AI News Observer follows current developments, international debates and emerging signals, bringing part of this analytical work into a journalistic context.
This distinction is intentional. Research requires continuity and depth; journalism requires attention to the present. Their connection makes it possible to move between the two without confusing their respective roles.
A global perspective
Artificial intelligence is developing across different economic systems, regulatory environments and institutional cultures. For this reason, Global AI Observatory adopts an international perspective, with particular attention to the way AI is changing business, governance, labor, knowledge and human autonomy in different parts of the world.
The Observatory aims to provide a place where these changes can be observed over time, compared and interpreted beyond the speed of daily technological news.
